Here are some places where you can run safely and peacefully.

ULTRA (Formerly PSA / Formerly PSC / Formerly all the former names), Pasig

This sports area located in Pasig has been labeled and re-labeled over and over again. I don’t even know what the current name is. The 400m oval track is open to the public. It costs Php 29 to use the facility. The track opens at 5:30am and closes at 10:00pm. The track is knee friendly and you’ll be motivated as you see fellow runners around you. You may even get the chance to see the elite runners practicing.

Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

The running capital of Metro Manila where most local running events are held. Thanks to its wide and well-lit roads, it is suitable for practice running. It is open to the public for running and you can see several groups practicing in the area. Be careful when running at night because there are some portions under construction. Hope they further develop the area to have lanes dedicated for runners and cyclists.

UP Academic Oval, Quezon City

My favorite place to run!  A lane dedicated to runners and cyclists.  The acacia trees protect your from the UV rays of the sun.  It's free to run around the oval. After a run, you can enjoy some UP isaw and fishballs. This 2.2km oval is closed to vehicular traffic on Sundays so you can see all sorts of people enjoying this very nice place.

Have you finally decided to wear your running shoes and hit the pavement? Good for you! In this article, we will try to answer the question “Is it safe to run in Metro Manila?”

If you run in your local gym on a treadmill, then it is pretty safe. But personally, I prefer to run outside. Why? I find it boring to run on a treadmill even if there are several LCD TVs showing all the channels you want. For me, running should happen outside where you actually exert effort to start moving. However, running outside, especially in Metro Manila, exposes you to several elements.
