I have been an avid supporter of Botak's Running Program ever since the dream and vision of promoting the sport of running was shared to me by Mr. Cesar Guarin. I am truly impressed with Mr. Guarin's passion for running as chronicled by his cross-country runs in the Philippines, USA, and Europe. (See related article on this.) Mr. Guarin is also very nationalistic and never stops believing that the Filipino will someday have the elusive Olympic Gold Medal. To support this dream, Botak has come up with a running program to give an opportunity to runners of all ages experience the camaraderie and thrill of competetive running. Beneficiary: UP Track and Field Oval, UP Diliman Campus The event is a RUN FOR A CAUSE. Dubbed as "Run for Runners", through this event we are raising funds for the rehabilitation of the UP Track and Field Oval into an Olympic standard Tartan Track Oval. With this, we would like to sustain the growth of running as a sport and further develop Filipino athletes competing in the international arena. It is BOTAK’s vision to help bring home the first Olympic Gold medal. It is our way of supporting our economy; thru our first gold medal we can rally our citizenry as a proud race. More so, it is a "Run for Runners" since it will give birth to another haven where we can train and nurture the sport. As more people will turn to running as an alternative sport there will be a new facility in QC to accommodate them. This in turn shall complete the campus as a central training ground for running. The roads of the campus offers road running which has hilly and flat terrain while the track oval shall offer speed and interval training for both runners and tracksters alike. And this can only be found in QC, an area that has the potential to produce world class running talents. Race Distances/Fees: - 100Km Solo Race - Php 1,500/pax
- 100Km Team Relay - Php 1,500/pax
- 50 Km Solo Race - Php 1,500/pax
- 10 Mile Race (16Km) - Php 300
